Dr. Jennifer Wise is a family chiropractor with a holistic and integrated approach to caring for individuals in all stages of life. Having received chiropractic care herself as a child, Dr. Wise learned early on that the body had an incredible ability to heal itself. She has now made it her mission to help individuals and families in her community realize this ability in themselves.

Long before becoming a mother herself, Dr. Wise had a special interest in care for infants and children as well as women during and after pregnancy. Her unique training in perinatal and pediatric chiropractic care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) includes certification in Webster’s In-Utero Constraint Technique. She uses a variety of chiropractic techniques to enable her to tailor care to each patient’s unique needs.

Dr. Wise received a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree from the University of Western Ontario and completed her chiropractic studies at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2007. She began her career in Atlanta, where she found her passion for pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic. She is also an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA) and Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA).

Dr. Wise enjoys spending her free time being active and exploring the outdoors with her husband and son.

"The nervous system holds the key to the body's incredible potential to heal itself."

PHILOSOPHY

Pregnancy
Chiropractic

Chiropractic care during pregnancy creates and maintains balance and alignment in the spine and pelvis as the mother and baby grow and develop.

Growing a baby requires a lot of change in your body and sometimes that can create pain and discomfort.  Chiropractic care can help reduce symptoms such as sciatica, low back pain, symphysis pubis dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain, headaches and neck pain and so many others!

Stimulation of the nervous system enables proper functioning of reproductive organs to support the needs of the growing baby throughout pregnancy and during the delivery process.

The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nerve system and facilitates biomechanical balance in pelvic structures, muscles and ligaments. This technique has been shown to reduce the effects of intrauterine constraint, allowing the baby to assume the best possible position for birth.

Dr. Wise’s adjusting techniques and evaluation methods are appropriate and gentle for people of all ages and are easily adapted  for pregnancy.

Pediatric Chiropractic

"Nature needs no help, just no interference."
-BJ Palmer, DC

Newborn chiropractic care looks very different from adult care and requires a special touch.  Cranial and spinal issues may begin in-utero or during delivery and can impact a baby's ability to have optimal function in the early days of his or her little life.

Even a natural birth can put stress on the newborn spine and nervous system so having a thorough chiropractic check-up early on ensures detection and removal of subluxations caused by in-utero stress or birth trauma. This is of particular importance if your baby experienced a breech presentation, forceps or vacuum delivery, shoulder dystocia, cesarian section, extended labour and delivery.

Common reasons parents bring their babies to the see Dr. Wise include difficulty with latch when breastfeeding or bottle feeding, colic, digestive issues including constipation and reflux, motor skill delays including difficulty with tummy time, crawling and walking, chronic ear infections and many others.  As children get older, periodic check ups to help with regular physical developmental milestones, injuries and postural concerns are among the top reasons parents will continue with regular care for their kids.

Safety and comfort are always the top priorities for you and your child during care. Dr. Wise uses specific analysis and specialized adjustments for the unique needs of pediatric care.  Infant adjusting techniques use such light force that many babies sleep right through their adjustments.
